Thomas Schütte's work is always about people. His works show damage, power relations, fears, dependencies, evil, weird and beautiful figures. He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Fritz Schwegler and Gerhard Richter. Today, he is one of the most important contemporary artists and has a worldwide presence. A film about Schütte is actually overdue, but we are hitting the right moment: among other things, a major retrospective is planned at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York and in Venice.
