Teacher Michele has to get out of the urban jungle of Rome and away from the school where he has been teaching for over 20 years. He seeks new fortune at an elementary school in the snowy 364-soul village of Rupe. With the help of his dedicated colleague Agnes and thanks to the spirited children, the new teacher gradually manages to settle in. Everything seems to be going well when unpleasant news arrives: the school is to be closed for good.
