LEE is the biography of an extraordinary woman: a film about supermodel and war photographer Lee Miller, one of the most important photojournalists of the 20th century, who was commissioned by Vogue to record the horrors of the Nazis for the world to see.

Followed by a discussion with Antony Penrose (son of Lee Miller) and Dr. Kathrin Baumstark, Director Bucerius Kunst Forum, moderated by journalist Salwa Houmsi. Anja Osterhaus, Managing Director of Reporters Without Borders, will give a special greeting. Media partner: FAZ

About

As a former model, Lee Miller is tired of being the photo subject of her male colleagues so she decides to focus on her own work as a photographer. As the war approaches, almost everything changes for her overnight: She gets a job as a photographer for British Vogue. Frustrated by the restrictions she faces as a female photographer, Miller presses the editor-in-chief for permission to travel to the front as a photographer.
