The career of stand-up comedian Max is in crisis and on top of that his wife Jenna has left him with their son Ezra. Now Max is living with his eccentric father again. When Ezra, who has signs of Asperger's syndrome, is expelled from school and might have to go to a special school from now on, Max spontaneously takes Ezra on a road trip through the USA, where the two of them get to know each other all over again. And father and son have more in common than thought as Ezra has an unexpected comedy talent.
