Prenzlauer Berg in East Berlin: from the 1970s onwards, it was a transit area for the GDR art scene between East and West. This is where artists from a reality they were unwilling to accept dived into the backyard landscape of Prenzlauer Berg, including Cornelia Schleime, Harald Hauswald, Sascha Anderson and the members of the punk bands Rosa Extra and Planlos. In Prenzlauer Berg, they experiment between Dadaism and punk, writing poetry, taking photographs, painting, making music and filming.
