Queen Margot
France in the 16th century. In order to pacify the religious war between Catholics and Protestants, Catherine de Medici marries her daughter Marguerite to the Protestant King Henri de Navarre. The wedding ceremony, which attracts almost 10,000 Huguenots to Paris, leads to a massacre. Patrice Chereau's film is based on the novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas.
