A baby is found dead on the beach, a few days later it becomes clear that its mother drowned it. The film works with the text of the transcripts of the trial that took place in 2015 in a town in northern France. But the justice that the film seeks is different from the judicary. It is memory and search for the suffering, the injuries, the emptiness, the identification that is passed down through the generations of mothers and daughters.
