THE GREAT GREEN WALL tells the inspiring story of one of the most ambitious climate projects in the world. An 8,000km belt of trees will be planted across Africa to halt the ravages of changing climate and provide food, jobs and a future for millions of people. The completion of this initiative would mean a new wonder of the world. Acclaimed Malian singer Inna Modja takes us on a journey along the Great Green Wall, speaking to people about their dreams and hopes – where words finally exhaust, music catches their encounters. On the journey through Senegal, Mali, Nigeria and Ethiopia, the film generates the soundtrack of the green wall in a collective, musical collage: In THE GREAT GREEN WALL, the heart of Africa beats to the beat of the future of our world. The film was made with the support of the UN.
