Wicked is the fabulous and unique musical adaptation of the book by Gregory Maguire, in which the popular and well-known story of “The Wizard of Oz” is told from the point of view of the Wicked Witch of the West. With music by Stephen Schwartz, we follow Elphaba's difficult youth. The green-skinned girl grows up as an outsider. When she is finally allowed to go to Shiz University to look after her sister Nessarose, a professor recognizes her magical abilities and decides to introduce the exceptional talent to the Wizard of Oz. Elphaba sees the chance to finally be seen for more than her green appearance. Her roommate G(a)linda initially seems to be the complete opposite of her and the two deeply loathe each other. However, opposites do attract and the young women end up becoming close friends. When the day comes for them to travel to the Emerald City to see the great wizard, a few surprises await the young witches.
